Water heater sizing depends on your household size, usage patterns, and peak demand periods. A typical family of four usually needs a 40-50 gallon tank, but that changes if you have multiple bathrooms, a large soaking tub, or do frequent large loads of laundry.
We assess your actual hot water usage rather than just going by household size. If you have teenagers taking long showers or run multiple appliances simultaneously, you might need more capacity than the standard recommendation.
For tankless systems, sizing works differently – we calculate based on flow rate and temperature rise requirements. We’ll measure your incoming water temperature and determine how many gallons per minute you need at your desired output temperature.
