First, shut off the water supply to stop additional damage. For localized leaks, turn off the fixture shut-off valve. For major leaks, locate your main water shut-off valve, usually near your water meter or where the main line enters your home.
Next, move valuable items away from the leak area and try to contain the water with buckets or towels. Take photos of the damage for insurance purposes if the leak has caused significant water damage to floors, walls, or belongings.
Then call us immediately, even if it’s after hours. The sooner we can assess and repair the leak, the less damage your home will suffer. Don’t wait until morning if you discover a leak at night – water damage gets worse every hour you delay.
